SUMMARY:Plant Tour: Forterra Structural & Specialty Products
DESCRIPTION:At this location Forterra primarily produces precast structural members including bridge members and other specialty products.  One of the newest products they are  producing is the NEXT Tee Beam which is used in fast-track bridge construction.  They will have  presentations on that product and others that they manufacture at the plant.  It is possible that they  will be producing the NEXT beams at the time of our visit\, though that is not known. \nClosed-toed shoes suitable for walking on variable surfaces & comfortable clothing suitable for a site/plant visit are recommended. \n  \nRSVP to Lea Huggins at eleanor.huggins@amecfw.com ASAP if you are interested in attending! Washington / Gray Construction Building\nCorner of 3rd Ave North and 18th Street \nRSVP to kathryn@aiabham.org if you’ll be attending. \nParking: Street. OR in on-site deck. First come\, first serve. Entrance is 1728 3rd Ave North. LOW CLEARANCE; no large vehicles. Carpooling recommended. \nREQUIRED PPE: Hard hats (AIA will have a few extra); Safety glasses; Long pants (no shorts); Boots (no tennis shoes allowed); high visibility shirt or vest. The contractor will not have enough PPE for everyone\, so make every effort to bring your own.  \nWe will gather at the exit of the parking deck in front of the jobsite trailer\, located just inside the exit of the parking deck.\nTour will start at 4:40 pm.
