THANKS GIVING. THANKSgiving. ThanksGIVING. Notice anything about this holiday? The words in THANKSGIVING. THANKS, we should all give thanks for what we have; jobs, health, friends, family, loved ones, our four legged family members, freedom, education, food, clothing, and shelter….
GIVING, if you have more than you need, give it to someone who does need it. Giving – share what you are thankful for with others. Give thanks. It is better to give than receive. I love the feeling when you give something to someone who needs it, it makes you feel good inside. Share that feeling.
I am thankful for each one of you. You make a difference every day. Help AIA Birmingham keep making a difference, get involved in our community outreach programs. We have programs for kindergarten thru high school. Call or email me to get involved.
Have a THANKFUL November.
Peace and THANKSgiving,
Rhea Williams, AIA Birmingham & ACFA Executive Director______

NO ENTRY FEE; however, this is a commissioned art show, with 30 percent of all sales going to the ACFA for architecture scholarships and educational programming. Non-members are welcome to participate, 50 percent of all nonmember sales will be donated to the ACFA, and if there are space concerns AIA members will receive first preference. Limited Edition Birmingham Landmarks Ornaments & Prints
Order now at www.alcfa.org!
We are so excited about our community fundraiser. The ACFA commissioned 4 local artist/architects/landscape architect to paint a watercolor of four of our local landmarks. The goal of this fundraiser (of course besides raise money) is to promote awareness of our landmarks and encourage people to visit them, support and promote local artist, and promote the architectural/design profession.
The ACFA will donate a $1 back to each corresponding landmark and the remainder of the proceeds will support ACFA K-12 educational programs and lecture series.
Ornaments are here and ready to order, and prints will be available December 1st.
Great gifts for clients, friends, family or secret Santa too.

Your Town Alabama Needs your Help!
In 1998 Your Town Alabama (YTA), was founded by a group of volunteers from across Alabama and from both the public and private sectors. They represented design education, economic development, historic preservation and resource preservation. Our vision was to expose community decision makers to asset-based planning techniques, focusing on identifying ‘what is right’ within their community and building on these unique community assets. However, the costs for the workshop are never fully covered by the registration fees. We need assistance in providing this valuable experience. Click here to view more. ______
