Industrial Designer, Spencer Nugent, will demonstrate hand sketching techniques that are useful for all designers. His presentation will combine both instruction in drawing techniques as well as demonstrations of how to apply these techniques to various design disciplines. Designers and artists of all mediums are welcome to drink, draw, learn something new and be inspired.
Suggested materials include a tablet of marker paper, a selection of pens of differing widths and a 20-30% grey marker but a few pens and pencils and a stack of printer paper will work too. Alabama Art Supply carries Pro Markers brand markers in various greys, a selection of Micron pens, and Canson marker pads.

Spencer Nugent, founder of IDSKETCHING.COM and Sketch-A-Day.com, has been engaged in providing free, high quality online design sketching tutorials and on-site sketch workshops for over 7 years. He has created an extensive online network and following within the Industrial Design community and continues to connect with students and design professionals via his online websites.
His experience includes working at General Motors in Warren, Michigan, San Francisco based design firm Astro Studios, heading up his own design consultancy, Studio Tminus where he worked with several clients primarily in the consumer electronics and apparel industries. Most recently, Spencer has been involved in managing design for Spacemonkey, a cloud storage company with a twist.
Spencer has worked with brands such as Microsoft, Intel, Hewlett Packard, BodyGlove, Adidas, Verifone, Kyocera Altec Lansing, Hasbro, Dell, Tupperware and Motorola.
Spencer also teaches industrial design classes, part-time, at Brigham Young University, where his emphasis and focus is on visual communication in design.
