Brick Fundamentals (1 HSW) — 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.
The intent of this course is to analyze the ASTM performance criteria for clay brick and identify how it offers durability, safety, and energy efficiency benefits.
Participants will examine the clay face brick manufacturing process and describe the environmental, health, and life cycle benefits of the resulting ceramic product
Participants will analyze the key aspects of ASTM performance criteria for clay brick and how these brick contribute to the durability of a masonry wall system
Participants will define the components of a drainage wall system and explain how it increases energy efficiency and assists with moisture management
Participants will identify brick orientation and bond patterns and observe how different orientations and patterns affect the aesthetic appeal of a project
Understanding Mortarless Stone Veneer and Other Stone Veneer Products — 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.
An examination of the new Mortarless Stone Veneer category of cladding products as it relates to other types of stone veneers, specifically around the areas of installation and applications.
Identify the various types of stone veneer products and material composition.
Understand the attributes of manufactured stone veneer products and installation systems.
Define the mortarless stone veneer category and installation method.
Identify key applications and installation guidelines for mortarless stone veneer.
Understanding Poly-Ash Trim and the Other Categories of the Exterior Trim Market — 12:00 – 1:00 p.m.
