SUMMARY:Reception: Birmingham City Flag Project Exhibit
DESCRIPTION:Host / University of Alabama at Birmingham and Design Week Birmingham \nVenue / University of Alabama at Birmingham’s Department of Art and Art History\, Project Space UAB Humanities Building – Directions \nInspired by the 2014 DWB/UAB DAAH Flag Workshop with DWB keynote speaker Aaron Draplin\, the Birmingham Flag Project invited designers\, artists\, students\, and collaborative teams to reimagine the Birmingham city flag in an open competition. The exhibition will showcase more than 150 submissions from across the community and feature the top three finalists as selected by a panel of local community leaders. \nThe Birmingham Flag Project Exhibition runs Oct. 19-24\, with an opening reception scheduled for 6-8 p.m. Tuesday\, Oct. 20. Viewing hours for the exhibition are scheduled for 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday\, Wednesday and Friday or by appointment. Project Space is located in the UAB Humanities Building at 900 13th Street South\, Room 100. For information or to schedule a visit\, contact Project Space director Jared Ragland at raglandj@uab.edu.
