Sponsor Appreciation Hump Day Product Show!

WOW!  You guys really showed our sponsors how much you appreciate them supporting AIA Birmingham.  The sponsors were very happy with the number of architects who attended the sponsor appreciation luncheon.  Sponsors had great door prizes.  The food was delicious and everyone had a great time.

Thank you AIA MEMBERS for showing your appreciation to our sponsors.
You guys are awesome! Click here for photo gallery.

Tibetan Monks & Architects?
Mystical Arts of Tibet Mandala Sand Project

We had scheduled our fish fry the same day as the Tibetan Monks lecture at Alys Stephens Center, but due to the Monks religious beliefs, we cannot eat during their lecture or sand demonstration.  This is a lecture/demonstration AIA could never provide without partnering with Alys Stephens Center.  The schedule is below:
November 12th, 2010
11:00 – 12:00 – Boxed lunches sold
12:00 – 1:00 – Lecture in the Upper Lobby of the ASC
1:00 – Closing Ceremony - As part of the closing ceremony, the sands will be swept up and placed in an urn. Half will be distributed to the audience, while the remainder will be carried and released into the Cahaba River (Grants Mill Road Access Point). The audience is invited to join the monks at the water source as well.
The mandala created in the ASC Grand Lobby will be a Medicine Buddha. This is the Buddha for health and living, integrating this living art perfectly into the mission and philosophy of UAB.

November 8: 1 p.m. Opening Ceremony. Viewing until 6 p.m.
November 9 - 11: Public Viewing 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
November 12: Open 10 a.m. until Closing Ceremony at 1 p.m.

Working Hard at RTJ

The AIA/BAF 16th Annual Golf Tournament was so fun!  We had 152 players, 20 hole sponsors and 11 drink/meal sponsors.  We had a great door prizes and Bradford Building sponsored an iPad raffle.  Al Mauro won the iPad.
It was a beautiful day to be at work on the golf course.
You guys worked really hard :-).
AIA/BAF would like to thank everyone who played or sponsored the golf tournament during these tough times.  We do appreciate your time and support (so does Pathways and the BAF).
We had a great turnout for “Balls & BBQ” and hope to see you next year if you missed it!
