Project Manager/Architect Role Responsibilities:
- Lead the functional and conceptual design process.
- Manage the project and design to ensure that all team members work effectively to maintain the project schedule and meet client needs.
- Management of production teams and consultants from design to construction.
- Produce and review production drawings and specifications.
- Coordinate all aspects of project documentation and technical information within the project team and externally with clients, vendors, and other design professionals.
- Interact with clients and user groups during meetings and design presentations.
- Be responsible for the accuracy and quality of all technical work on the project.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited architecture program.

U.S. District Court for the North Division of Alabama
Space and Facilities Administrator
The Clerk’s Office of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama is seeking an experienced facilities and project manager to oversee the building management, construction efforts, and project management for five federal courthouses across the District. Oversight responsibilities would include facilities maintenance, identifying building issues, drafting specifications, coordinating with the General Services Administration (GSA), coordinating space projects, and advising senior managers and judges on various space matters.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage a team, including Operations and Maintenance contractors, that researches, analyzes, and plans for building maintenance, construction projects, and future requirements for multiple federal courthouses/buildings.
- Support the procurement of supplies, equipment, and services.
- Supervise and prepare specifications, solicitations, requests for quotations/proposals, and Reimbursable Work Authorizations (RWAs).
- Serve as a technical liaison between contractors, the procurement office, and all stakeholders.
- Evaluate and monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with obligations.
- Assess, document, prioritize, and respond to project problems.
- Maintain project files related to specific building projects and general files related to facilities management, space planning, furniture acquisition, building maintenance, etc.
- Oversee and coordinate department, division, staff, and judge moves.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Revit Specialist
Five South Architecture is currently seeking an experienced Revit Designer to join our team. This role would be responsible for managing the company’s BIM software, guidelines, and processes as well as Revit production and coordination on projects. The candidate will work closely with Five South’s leadership team in researching, developing, and implementing new BIM workflows, standards, and procedures.
Principal Responsibilities
- Mange BIM guidelines and standards
- BIM Modeling and Detailing of Architecture and Interiors in REVIT software.
- Work under the direction of a registered design professional.
- Collaborate and Coordinate with other consultants and contractors.
- Provide BIM/REVIT support to coworkers, including software training.
- Maintaining and updating the firm’s digital BIM Library.
- Revit Content creation such as parametric families.
- Integration of REVIT products with other applications (Autodesk, Renderings, Animations, Virtual Reality, Clash Detection, laser scans, Cost Estimation, etc.).
- Document and modeling of existing conditions, which could include field measuring/laser scanning at project sites.
- Occasionally participate in BIM conferences for additional education and networking opportunities.
Requirements
- Degree in Architectural Technology, Engineering Technology, or Construction technology related field plus 2 + years of experience in professional design environment. Bachelor’s Degree in related field is preferred.
- 4 years’ experience in an Architecture firm may be substituted for a degree.
- Eager to support staff with a positive attitude, passion, and patience.
- REVIT experience is required. Experience with other applications is highly desired, such as rendering/animation software, Enscape, cost estimation software, etc.
- Working knowledge of design industry workflows, production cycle, and priorities.
- Working knowledge of general building construction
- Strong level of Communication Skills and Self Initiative
- Successful evaluation of current BIM and Revit skills will be a condition of employment.

Architecture Associate
BDG Architects has an immediate need for a talented, creative, and motivated individual to work as an Architecture Associate under the direct supervision of a studio team leader. The role will be based out of our downtown Birmingham, AL office. A minimum of 2 ears of experience is preferred. Project types will include Mixed-Use, Multi-Family, Hospitality, Restaurants, Retail, Banking, and more.
Roles and Responsibilities will include but may not be limited to the following:
- Participate in the development of functional, sustainable and client inspired designs.
- Focus on all phases of the design process including schematics, design development, and delivery of construction documents.
- Assist with construction administration tasks including construction site visits, submittal, and RFI reviews.
- Perform specific/limited portions of assignments using prescribed methods for a variety of architectural projects under the general supervision of a senior licensed architect.
- Create renderings for projects utilizing Revit.
- Project types will be focused on financial service clients to start, and eventually include other projects work workplace, healthcare, and municipal clients.
Desired Skills, Knowledge, and/or Experience:
- Education: Completion of professional architecture degree program
- AXP: Completion of your AXP Hours is desired, but not required. If you have not yet completed your AXP hours, you should be actively engaged in the process of completing. BDG will assist you in obtaining the hour categories necessary to complete your AXP.
- Licensure: Professional licensure is desired, but not required. If you are not yet licensed, you should be actively engaged in the process of completing.
- Proficient in Revit Microsoft Office Suite, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Knowledge in 3dsmax and/pr Enscape is a plus, but not required.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively and professionally with other team members and accept direction to reach common goals for successful outcomes.
